In Codru region, on shiny vineyards that lay on the bed of river Nistru the grapes that will give life to future Castel Mimi wines are harvested with much care. The experts of the winery pay a special attention to some indigenous varieties like Feteasca Albă, Feteasca Regală, Feteasca Neagră, Rară Neagră that possess a great potential. At the same time great wines are also produced from the classical varieties like Pinot Gris, Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon.
Castel Mimi’s underground galleries are more than a century old. The wine cellars, made of bricks and limestone are absolutely charming. The beauty of the historical architecture and the welcoming smell of the wines in barrels will bring back in times when our great winemaker Constantin Mimi was working on creating his recipes.
